Federal law in the USA states that ALL contact lenses are considered to be a prescription drug and only to be sold by any retail outlet with the approval of the customer’s eye care professional. This applies to all contact lenses, including non-prescription lenses.

The FDA and the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) have very specific guidelines on how contact lenses are sold and how the paperwork should be stored and handled.

Once we reach out to the Eye Care Professional, they have 8 business hours to respond to us. If they do not respond in that time frame, the prescription is considered verified, and your new lenses can be legally sold to you under the Contact Lens Rule. An eye care provider is needed to complete your eye verification.
